FORMER Wanderers owner Ken Anderson walked away with £240,000 from the sale of the club, The Bolton News understands.

The Football Ventures consortium finally completed their takeover on Wednesday, following months of complex negotiations.

Anderson was accused by the club’s administrators, David Rubin and Partners, of “using his position as a secured creditor to hamper and frustrate any deal that did not benefit him or suit his purposes” in the statement which announced the sale.

Around £40,000 of Anderson's fee was paid as an unsecured creditor.

It has also emerged that an incredible £7.5million of debt was ‘forgiven’ by the Eddie Davies Trust.

In an effort to preserve Davies’s legacy, the family of the late Bolton owner waved the loans, at least one of which was taken out by Anderson to wipe clear the debt to BluMarble in September 2018.

Football Ventures directors, Sharon Brittan and Mike James, and Emma Beaugeard, who is another senior advisor in the consortium, arrived at the stadium this afternoon to meet and greet staff.

They brought with them a huge selection of cakes for an informal meeting with all employees.

Here's a nice little piece from the Beeno in 2019. It accuses Ken Anderson of walking away with £240K.
There's nothing lynch mobs like quite so much as fuel on the fire and they plainly loved this. Just look at the comments.

So KA put himself personally at risk for £7.5m and walked away with £240K, did he? I'm not convinced he 'walked away' with it anyway but it seems like a small amount of money compared to what Ben Amos, Dean Holdsworth and the Administrators 'walked away' with. Should I mention Dale Vince?
