I went straight to Firefox from IE back in the day when they first started and haven't looked back since.
That coupled with adblock plus for advert blocking is great.
I do use Chrome for a particular website although that is due to the fact of having 2 accounts for something and I am constantly logged in one of them in firefox.

I use Chrome on my iMac, but I've got a macbook pro, and the touchbar is only fully functional with Safari, so I use that.
The big 'Catalina update' is coming this Autumn and a lot of our mac apps will disappear overnight. iTunes will be gone,and many others. They'll be replaced with many apps recognisable from your iPhone.

As a Mac user I use Chrome or Safari for the same reason Bonce outlined above.
