Childhood Toy Heartbreak

Every Christmas I'd get a "big toy" off Father Christmas, a bike, snooker table, computer etc, but occasionally I'd be disappointed and not get the toy I wanted. But if I didn't get it for Christmas I'd always make sure I got it for my birthday a few months later.

But there was one toy that always eluded me - the USS enterprise from Star Trek that shot little orange bullets out of the front. I don't know whether my parents couldn't find it or simply didn't want a girl having that sort of toy, whatever the reason it left me quite traumatised.

Was there anything you always wanted as a child but never got?
