Wanderers have paid-up their football creditors, drawing a line under the nightmarish debts accrued under the Ken Anderson era.

The Bolton News understands that all debts owed to players no longer contracted to the club has now been settled by the Football Ventures consortium.

The likes of Andy Taylor, David Wheater, Gary O'Neil, Pawel Olkowski, Craig Noone, Erhun Oztumer and Josh Magennis have been paid the money which was owed to them by the previous regime - which was a stipulation of the EFL sanctioning the takeover back in August.

Football Ventures had initially looked into a PFA loan to help fund the up front costs of paying football creditors all at once.

The decision was taken, however, to settle debts immediately with contracted players from the 2018/19 campaign, such as Jason Lowe, Remi Matthews and Ben Alnwick, and agree with the players' union to make a second payment to the players who had moved on elsewhere in November.

It is understood the EFL will continue to monitor Wanderers' transfer activity.

...and on that note we can hopefully draw a line under Anderson's horrendous tenure.

I'm just hoping that FV are not overspending because now that the feel good factor is back we can only hope it is sustainable.
