Amir Khan says work is set to begin on the interior of his multi-million pound building in Deane.
The £5m facility was initially planned as a large wedding venue but work on the project stalled after beginning in 2015.
Now, the boxer has addressed fans on Facebook to tell them he plans to get the project back underway.
He initially posted a picture with Bolton planning chief Paul Whittingham yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) but then provided a second update promising that an "interior fit out" was due to begin.
Initial proposals would have seen the building turned into a wedding venue, banqueting suite and function hall and were widely welcomed by councillors when they were first revealed nearly six years ago.
The development was to contain a restaurant and bar on the ground floor, an 800-seater function hall on the first floor, a VIP restaurant on the second floor, a roof terrace and 51 parking spaces.
However, in March the boxer opened the future of the building up to the public by asking on Facebook for ideas on what the building should become.
He suggested part of the site could be housing, apartments, a hotel or even a shopping mall.
But, just a week later firefighters were called to the building when a blaze engulfed building materials.
