Budapest here i come!

I'm going to Budapest for a few days on Thursday, anyone been before and have any great tips on places to visit?

I know it's a cheap place for food and drink so i imagine i'll be well oiled while i'm there but don't know much about the city to be honest.

If you are going to escape the kids, you could have just booked a nice hotel in Blackpool and ordered room service if wanting lots of nookie!

My mate and his wife go away on lots of weekend breaks now their kids are older and we can't normally go with them but this one was quite cheap and has a few things booked on it already such as a cruise down the Danube, a visit to the Christmas market and 48hr hop on hop off tourist bus tickets.

Been so busy at work lately not had time to look into it to be honest other then noticing the beer is very cheap

There's a chocolate museum, and a pinball museum. The Koller Gallery is also well worth a visit.

I don't really have any experience of Europe although the cruise looks pretty good if you are doing that in the evening with some of the historical buildings lit up.

Cheers KP, i'm off on Wednesday so will have a look online for places to go but if we use the hop on hop off buses we should cover most of the main places.

Yes, it'll be scorching hot. All you need are a couple of t-shirts, shorts and your flip-flops.

That's all i can pack anyway as it's with the shysters Ryanair and their ever changing and confusing baggage policy 

I'm back now from a very cold Budapest. Had a great time, saw a few sights but mostly the inside of bars 

Cheap food and drink if anyone fancies going, head for the Jewish quarter for lots of great bars.

Poor Mrs Norpig, she probably thought she was going to get a bit of culture for a change.

Yes i did and i enjoyed myself thanks very much. We did see some sites such as the Basilica and the Great Synagogue and went on the hop on hop off bus tours so saw all the major sites then went and got pissed, what's wrong with that?

I thought you may have visited the outdoor Turkish baths but then again with it being cold it would have been rather embarrassing for you in your speedos with the boys going into hiding in the barracks!
