.....early from his spell at Carlisle United/
Bolton striker Michael O'Halloran has cut short his loan spell at Carlisle and has returned to the Reebok Stadium.
The 21-year-old, who has represented Scotland at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level, featured as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat at MK Dons at the start of the month but has not appeared for Greg Abbott's side since.
Abbott told the Cumbrians' official website: "Michael came to see me and he told me that he felt that he wanted to get back down to Bolton to carry on his work down there.
"He wanted more in the way of pitch time with us and we couldn't guarantee him that at this moment in time.
"I spoke to Owen [Coyle] and he has been fantastic about the situation, so Michael leaves here with our very best wishes."
