Wanderers are working hard to add more defenders to their ranks ahead of this weekend’s game at Rochdale.
Keith Hill wants at least one centre-half in by tomorrow lunchtime, which is the cut-off point for registration, and has been strongly linked with a move for Ipswich Town’s Toto Nsiala.
The DR Congo international has struggled to nail down a regular starting place at Portman Road this season after suffering a hamstring injury early on and conceding two penalties in two games against Lincoln and Accrington.
His form has since improved but the former Accrington man has started just two of the Tractor Boys’ last eight league games and is considering a loan move to get more game time.
The rumour mill has also linked Bolton with Hibs’ centre-back Adam Jackson, who could be heading out of Easter Road this month after making just six appearances this season.
Jackson spent three years at Barnsley and started out his career at Middlesbrough.
Hill has lost loanees Josh Earl and Jake Wright and has yet to confirm an extended contract for full-back Adam Chicksen, which leaves him down to the bare bones at the back as he journeys to face his former club at Spotland.
