Think I've had it now

It has become more and more apparent that this forum is becoming populated with people that I cannot bring myself to be associated with.

Right wing sentiments, rampant homophobia, overt sexism and outright trolling being the majority of my gripes.

This is no big flounce and I won't be slamming the door behind me as there are still a few people that post on here that I quite enjoy reading, but I won't be here very often I don't think, nor will I be contributing too much.

I will be back on JA606 more I think and look forward to a reasonable standard of conversation on there, or at the least less reactionary and repugnant views on even the most mundane of topics.

I agree with your comments about some of the posts but will keep reading and posting anyway.

Censoring posts or banning posters is tricky. If its not illegal, even if it offends me, I am prepared to let it stand. I would urge you to reply occasionally or just ignore it. However if it got to the level of some of the stuff on BA I might have more of a problem.

I've n ot seen anything untoward, maybe some strong views on some subjects, but thats all...

One mans meat is another mans poison. I'm probably more guilty than most of pushing the boundaries but I refuse to compromise my sense of humour to the shrine of political correctness.

Of course, there are limits but it always amazes me how people get offended by comments on the internet. It's not as if we all know one another. Quite often posters are nothing like their internet persona in the flesh.

Most comments are clearly tongue in cheek and should be seen as such. FWIW, I like THC's posts and I hope he continues to post. I would have much preferred if he had challenged the post which offended him on here so that we could debate it rather than have to guess which post dislodged his moral compass.

If it was me that offended him then I apologise for the comment but not for my sense of humour.

I don't agree with the "right wing" views either but i wouldn't leave the site over it, after all, just someones opinion.

racism, homophobia etc is a different matter, but i haven't seen anything like that.

I go on 606 and feel the old Coyle in and coyle out brigade very tedious. It generally has a crappy atmosphere on there with the same old shit being churned up by the usual suspects has killed the site IMO. Don't get me wrong there is a fair few who are clued up on there but it seems to have died a little.
