I was brought up as a Methodist and I am a Christian by culture but my beliefs are somewhat confused.
I am interested to know how true believers see the present state of the world in relation to their beliefs. .
There's no such thing as God.
We are simply a production of science and evolution over an incomprehensible period of time - around 13.5 billion years.
Man invent the concept of God to explain away things they couldn't understand at that time.
That's why the western world who have mainly renounced a God is vastly more advanced in terms of science and understanding of the universe and not held back like those religions that believe life should be lived exactly as someone wrote it as, around a thousand years or more ago.
John had it right.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion tooImagine all the people living life in peace,
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
However if believing gives you peace and purpose then I'm pleased it works for you.
Not for me though.
