WANDERERS (3-4-1-2)
BILLY CRELLIN…7
Couple of good saves to keep his side in it during the first half. Won’t be impressed with some of the defending in front of him.
HARRY BROCKBANK…6
First game for nearly eight months so perhaps entitled to a spot of rustiness, which showed early on. Grew into the game in the second half, though.
RYAN DELANEY…6
Scored a goal and cleared one off the line – bookending a couple of slack moments.
GEORGE TAFT…6
Important as a distributor from the back but, like Delaney, has to get the defensive basics right too.
JAK HICKMAN…8
Ran hard, crossed hard and nearly got a goal as well. Still playing catch-up but looks like good competition for Gethin Jones.
ANTONI SARCEVIC…6
With Crawford grabbing the majority of possession, Sarcevic was left picking around the edges a little. Never fully involved.
TOM WHITE…6
Great range of passing and always seems available for the ball but did find himself by-passed a little when Crewe moved forward from the back.
LIAM GORDON…6
Eager to push on and his link-up play was better than it was on Saturday – but the space in behind him was an issue at times.
ALI CRAWFORD…6.5
Came into his own after about half an hour and started to pull strings in midfield. Needs to find his range at set pieces – but an encouraging 90 minutes.
EOIN DOYLE…6
He will score goals, we know that. He should have scored against Crewe… And nobody needs to tell him that.
NATHAN DELFOUNESO…6
Worked hard outside the penalty box without really getting any change out of the Crewe defence.
Subs: Miller 6.5, 65 (for Delfouneso) – Super finish, neat and tidy on the ball.
Comley 6, 65 (for White) – Steadied midfield.
Jones 75 (for Hickman) – Needed fresh legs by that stage.
Not used: Alexander, Darcy, Tutte, Senior
Crewe (4-3-3): Richards; Johnson, Beckles, Sass-Davies, Pickering; Ainley, Wintle, Lundstram; Dale, Mandaron, Zanzala.
Subs: Kirk 65 (for Zanzala), Finney 81 (for Lundstram) Not used: Booth, Nolan, Lancashire, Griffiths, Murphy.
Referee: Anthony Backhouse 5/10
