Yoan Zouma will not be returning to Bolton Wanderers, head coach Ian Evatt has confirmed.
The Frenchman had been training with the Whites with a view to getting a second shot at the UniBol.
But at his press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Newport County, Evatt revealed the defender was no longer with Wanderers and that the club would not be pursuing a deal.
“Yoan’s now left,” Evatt said.
“We have quite a few centre backs at the moment.
“Yoan is 23 years old so he’s not a child, he’s not a 21-year-old project anymore, he has to come straight into someone’s first team.
“From what I’ve seen in training is he ready and doing things better than the ones that we have? The honest answer is no.
“At the moment that is not something we’re going to do.”
