Character out of the comedy series Nearest and Dearest.
I wasn't a fan but I think the line Bob posted was what was said to Walter in the shows rather being aimed at you as an insult or anything.
(Hope so anyway!)

Bob is referring to Walter, on the right of that picture. He was a non verbal star of Nearest And Dearest. It was vital to the plot that he'd 'been'.Norpig wrote:You'll have to explain to those of us under retirement age Boncey

'No need to get your hair off' is a wonderful phrase, and brings back memories of my gran.

"Keep your hair on" is the phrase I'm familiar with and one I've not heard in ages.
Certainly takes me back to my younger years!

A lot of people I know still use this phrase.

She was always OK with us, but some of the other Aunt's never spoke to her, she owned 4 houses near the chip shop on Plodder lane and 3 houses in Victoria street, all of which my relatives lived in, she was forever putting rents up, so guessing so, I'll always remember her taking me and my sister to Southport in her Rover, it was the 60s so we'd never been in a car before.boltonbonce wrote:Really Martin? Was she as difficult as is made out? Always been a fan.

I never met Harold, but her Brother Sid was a keen weightlifter, and was still doing it in his sixties.
