Adam Senior and Ronan Darcy are in line for their first starts of the season in tomorrow night’s EFL Trophy clash at Shrewsbury Town.
Ian Evatt has confirmed he will give the academy a chance as reward for their training efforts in the last few weeks.
“It’s a very deserved chance,” he said. “Both of them have worked really hard for us, so this is a great opportunity for them.
“We will be making changes – not so many as to get a fine – but we do have a couple of options we can switch around to keep things fresh.
“But as I have said before, I want to win every game. And the team I put out there will be capable of going and getting a result at Shrewsbury.”
Wanderers will be without Gethin Jones, who is waiting on the results of a scan to determine the extent of damage to his leg and ankle sustained in Saturday’s victory at Harrogate.
The Whites will also be without Lloyd Isgrove and Shaun Miller – who are expected back in action next week – and defenders Alex Baptiste and Reiss Greenidge, who could return to the squad in time to face Grimsby at home this weekend.
