Gethin Jones has taken an important step on the road to recovery at Wanderers, Ian Evatt has revealed.
The full-back, who suffered ankle damage in the victory against Harrogate at the start of the month, has now returned to light training duties ahead of schedule.
It had initially been predicted that Jones would be out until after Christmas but the former Everton man may now be closer to a first team return than previously thought.
Evatt also confirmed that striker Eoin Doyle has reacted well to treatment on a hamstring strain and may also beat the clock, having initially been given up to four weeks on the side-lines.
“We haven’t had everyone available all at once yet but when we do I actually think we have got a very good squad,” said the Whites boss.
“Gethin Jones was back on the grass today, which was great to see, and Lloyd Isgrove and Shaun Miller have joined in again with parts of training.
“Eoin Doyle is improving fast, his hamstring is settling better than we thought, so that’s great as well.
“Hopefully we’re on the right path in terms of getting everyone available for selection.”
