Papers are full of his apparent 'affair' today.

Thing is the pictures are from nearly two months back.

We.ve had Cummings a month or so ago face a parliamentary committee to say he said he thought Hancock was bloody useless, then posted on social media Boris saying he was useless and now this.

I'm not a big one for conspiracies but this looks awfully like one to my mind.

I'm not a big moralist either so does him having an affair (if he really is?) effecting how he does his job?

Neil Lennon once said remember that he used to ask his mistress about team selections (before he plotted to have her bumped off!

If you do like a conspiracy story then the article is credited to two journalists, one of whom Harry Cole, just happens to be an ex of Carrie Symonds (now of course Mrs Boris Johnson) and Political Editor of The Sun!

And Cummings and his intolerance of Princess Nut Nuts was the very reason why he was kicked out by Boris.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock admits breaking social distance rules with aide

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has admitted breaking social distancing rules after pictures of him kissing an aide were published in a newspaper.

He said he had "let people down" after photos emerged of him with Gina Coladangelo - whom he appointed - and was "very sorry".

Labour urged the PM to sack Mr Hancock, calling his position "untenable".

But the health secretary said he would stay "focused" on dealing with the pandemic.

A rhetorical question - what good would it do sacking Hancock now?

For good or bad he's been there right from the beginning, and what would a 'new broom' contribute at this stage?

I suspect if he did go then his deputy would simply step up and change nothing much?

I guess it now depends on whether Johnson wants to ride out the storm or throw Hancock to the wolves?

I've yet to see Cummings back up his claims on Hancock - and Hancock made that point himself when he too went before the committee - and now suddenly this - from two months back...

I wonder why now...?

Doing what's right in public office is important, especially when it concerns tax-payers' money and breaking his own party's rules that all the rest of us are expected to adhere to. Public trust in the Tories' integrity is now at rock-bottom, if it wasn't there already. Hardly surprising that he copies the behaviour of those around him, including his own boss, who has scant respect for the law.

More amusing is this morning's few words from the Fat Controller endorsing the fact that obesity is a problem. Irony personnified! Smile

Lady B reckons you can spot someone playing away from home by their kit.
She spotted Hancock’s ‘away kit’ about 12 month’s ago.

Like the rest of the government he’s demonstrably incompetent and should have been sacked countless times, his adultery is the least of our problems.

I don't believe any politician/leader in the world (irrespective of party or state democracy/non democracy) had all the right answers when they needed them, so would you sack them all and who are the ones who will know the right answers to replace them all with???

There was no 'perfect' way to deal with the pandemic that no one had ever encountered before.

Nobody set out to kill people, they set out to save them the best way they knew how whilst not wrecking the economy at the same time - and lets not forget, that the vast majority of people couldn't be arsed to do the most simplest of things to help by doing such things like keeping in their bubbles and wearing face masks inside places like shops, etc, ffs!

If Labour had been in power do you think they would have done things much better?

How would they have found all the PPE at the drop of a hat - would they not have brought in emergency powers too?

Would the Labour government turn away offers of help from companies that had Tory connections?

Would the civil servants not establish the VIP lane like they did (it wasn't the Tory government that did that - or didn't you know?).

Would Labour have not sent the children back to school or the kids to university?

Would they not try and keep on top of outbreaks in regions like the government did?

Do you really think things would have been vastly different?

If Corbyn had been Prime Minister, with his ideological socialist mates, I personally think things would have been considerably worse myself - they certainly would not have got Kate Bingham to take charge of the vaccine task force and the one undeniable success we have had in her getting the vaccines and rolling them out so magnificently.

Anyway as you say Hancock's adultery is hardly a sacking offence in this day and age and it's pathetic of the Labour party to attempt to make it into one.

They really are well out of touch these days don't you think?

(The electorate certainly do!).

We're in the middle of a world pandemic and we have a Health Minister who flagrantly disregards the rules he himself devised. Despite the incredible hypocrisy of the man and the justified anger directed his way from millions who have made genuine and painful sacrifices to stick to his rules, Hancock is still in his job and is the bloke whose rules we will be expected to abide by in any further crises arising from Covid.
How's that one going to pan out then? Not well I fear.
The question as to whether it's timely or convenient to dump him now is totally irrelevant. So is the issue of whether anyone new can replace him at this late stage.
Even if you ignore his obvious incompetence, the fact that Johnson has called him fucking hopeless, the care homes cock up and Cumming's accusations that he is a serial liar, Hancock's position is totally untenable and he should go ASAP, even judging him by his own standards. Watch the glee on his face as he says Prof. Neil Edwards made the correct decision to resign after being caught meeting his married lover.

Everything is always black or white to you, you can't seem to accept that things are dynamic and some of what you believe simply isn't true.

At the start of the pandemic it was right that senior figures should step down if seen to be breaking the rules but getting on for a year an a half later I think most people by now have broken them themselves.

I have.

Nothing major in the scheme of things - as I'm in the at risk category myself - but little things such as helping my daughter out when she needed it and where it didn't effect anyone else.

There have been 4,700,000 positive Covid cases in the UK and NI since this thing began, and the virus can't spread itself can it?

You need people doing something they shouldn't be doing in order to spread it so God knows how many other countless occasions that folk have broken the rules but didn't catch it.  Must be millions of times, billions probably!

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who wasn't seriously shielding that haven't broke some rule or other by now, so to say Hancock should go because he broke one of the rules when he snogged the women he was working with and seeing on a daily (hourly) basis is just extreme hypocrisy is it not?

You know, he who is without sin cast the first stone...

Cummings called him a serial liar - so what - didn't Cummings tell the whole nation a big fat lie over Barnard Castle - pot and kettle there methinks!

Johnson called him hopeless, well maybe he did - but in what context?

The context was a private tweet (or similar?) to Cummings wasn't it?

Well do you always say exactly what you mean every time, or do you just agree and join in sometimes just to save yourself the hassle?

If your Mrs ask you if her bum looked big in her new dress, would you say 'no love, you look as gorgeous as ever' (or whatever you do say) or would you say it makes you look like the back end of a bus (if indeed it did!).

Cummings clearly was on Hancock's case and Boris simply agreed with him for a quiet life - if he really thought he was so shit then you would not have him front and centre of everything for the last year would you???

I mean would you, just think about it for a moment?

I reckon he thinks Priti Patel is though, Home Secretary - one of the three great offices of state - how many times have we seen her leading on this - hardly ever...

...I wonder why?

I could go on but you are one of those who are unable to listen to any sort of reason - you've made your mind up and that's an end to it as far as you are concerned.

The thing is though is that you are probably in the majority of how people now are, namely breaking the rules themselves but indignant with rage and howling for Hancock's head for doing much the same himself (I mean not keeping in his bubble, wearing a facemask type thing rather than having a bit on the side or whatever it is he's doing).

You and they may even get your wish too.

But let us leave thinking about this.

Don't you think it is more than a bit strange that the 'kiss' happened nearly two months ago and clearly someone has 'sat' on this story until now?

I wonder why...

...don't you?

Took a very strict process for his best friend of 20 years (and bit on the side) to land the job apparently. Just like all the other Tory party friends who’ve landed well paid jobs under this government. Just an incredibly competent and well qualified bunch.

Dido Harding for head of the NHS? Well why the hell not.

On his way out? probably not, when your boss has the moral compass of a snake, it's difficult to pull rank, if he sacks Hancock, and he should, then by any standard the PM would also come into question.

Kate Bingham to get us the vaccines and roll them out - that was a disaster wasn't it...

And for all these Tory party friends landing well paid jobs in the government, do you have a number of how many they are and how many well paid jobs that exist?

Are we talking say 1 in every 5 jobs or 1 in every 5,000?

You've just bought in to the innuendo like so many others.

Where are the actual facts to back up all these claims?

..dunno..

As for the well paid job could anyone just turn up and do it?

This is the woman's CV from her LinkedIn page -

Ms Coladangelo says she has more than 20 years of experience in business management, marketing and communications.

The reported millionaire is the marketing and communications director at Oliver Bonas, which was founded by her husband Oliver Tress, with whom she is said to have three children.

Ms Coladangelo is also listed on LinkedIn as having been an owner and director of Luther Pendragon, described as one of the largest independent communication consultancies in London, from 2002 to 2014.

Her profile on the Department of Health's website says she has "wide-ranging" experience in healthcare communications and is a governor of two independent special schools for children with autism.

Quite aside from Hancock's typically cavalier lack of feeling or concern for his wife and family or for Gina's husband and family, this article on the BBC website highlights what should be the repercussions for him and the government/Boris and the reasons why. Shrugging it off as "just an affair" is secondary to the real political issues that arise.

His supporters in the cabinet include the equally guilty Robert Jenrick who also broke the government's rules and avoided being sacked by the party leader. It's impossible to trust their integrity. Anyone who defends them is equally guilty.
