Wanderers are closing in on a loan deal for Hamburg winger Xavier Amaechi, according to reports.
The 20-year-old England youth international started his career with Arsenal before making the move to Germany in the summer of 2019.
The Bath-born forward has made a handful of Bundesliga 2 appearances for Hamburg and also played in the German second tier on loan at Karlsruher at the end of last season.
A skillful wide player, Amaechi has played for England at Under 16, 17, 19 and 20 level and was named in the team of the tournament at the 2018 European Under-17 Championship.
His arrival would be the first loan signing of the summer, Ian Evatt already having made seven permanent additions.
Last season’s loan stars Declan John and Dapo Afolayan have both signed up for life in League One along with new faces Amadou Bakayoko, Joel Dixon, Will Aimson, George Johnston and Josh Sheehan.
