Bolton ready to let prized winger Dennis Politic leave for SPL loan 12832709

Dennis Politic is set to leave Wanderers on loan in the transfer window.

The highly-rated attacker has recently returned from a year out with a cruciate ligament injury and could be sent to the Scottish top flight until January to further his development.

Ian Evatt is also considering loan deals for some of his other young players but insists Politic remains in his plans at Bolton for the future.

“I think a loan would do him good,” he told The Bolton News. “Physically he is still not where I would like him to be so he needs time and minutes on the pitch.

“We have got a really competitive forward area at the moment and Dennis needs games to get himself to the fitness levels where he was prior to the injury.

“We think a lot of Dennis, he is a talented young man and I think he will be a big player for this club in the future but for now it is about aiding his development and getting him back up to speed.”

Evatt is keen to ensure that a club taking Politic – or any of his other younger players – in the next few weeks are playing the type of football which will help progress their game.

“We have got some options in Scotland, the SPL, and possibly around here as well so we want to aid players’ development and we will do the due diligence. This isn’t just about getting them out on loan to get them out of the way and play, it’s strategic,” he said.

“What team are they playing for, what way will they play, does it mirror what we do here, will it aid his development? It is all important.”

Wanderers go to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday with Evatt expecting the home side to provide a stern physical test for his team.

The Dons have already beaten Doncaster Rovers away from home and will be playing in front of a capacity crowd at their new Plough Lane ground for the first time.

“We have to do what we have built all this on, and that’s hard work, being hard to beat and then hopefully our quality will show in the end,” Evatt said.

“League One will throw different things at us. The bigger clubs will have huge crowds and stadia that you have to deal with, and maybe a more tactical game. But then there will be some games where you just have to roll up your sleeves, dig and fight. This is one of those occasions where we will have to show character.”

It just shows how poor the standard is in the SPL if he does go there, good luck to him though. I hope he gets game time wherever he goes and can come back ready to get back into our team.

It has been such a waste for Connell, he should have stayed with us as he would have definitely got game time with us. He looked such a good player for us even at 17.

I was looking forward to having him in the team this season. It would be like signing a new winger with league one experience......I dunno.
