Deliberate stomp or genuine accident ? I have watched the footage a few times and I am convinced it was deliberate.

The PFA have charged him and he faces a four match ban.

His agent has threatened that he will leave the Premier League if he thinks he is being treated unfairly. That's rich!

Absolutely definitely done on purpose, but for some reason I still like the chap!

He is certainly entertaining but he can't be allowed to get away with what he did just because he is a character.

It looks like City are not going to contest the charge, so he hasn't got away with it. There was an interesting item on yahoo earlier today comparing what Balotelli did to what some Real Madrid player did in the copa game against Barcelona. I think he walked over to Messi whilst he was on the ground and stood on his hand. At least our authorities are acting unlike the Spanish ones.

I do find Balotelli amusing but there is just no way you can condone his actions. If he had correctly been sent off then the outcome could have been totally different.

So is sex. I used to go out with a girl who punched me in the face every time she had an orgasm. I didn't mind too much until I found out she was faking it.

He reminded me of Beckham when he did that. Not that Becks ever kicked a player in the face when they were lying down, but that he saw an opportunity to do something 'clever' and made a hash of it. You will recall Becks being injured and would have missed a game and had accumulated yellows so he took the opportunity to get himself a clumsy, obvious yellow card so that he would miss the game he already knew he would have missed, and got rid of his yellows as well. Then he gave an interview in which he basically said "I did that on purpose. I bet you didn't know I was that clever!" . Balotelli thought he had been fouled and that this was a perfect opportunity to retalliate and made a hash of it. He deserves anything he gets, but is quite the character and amuses me no end. As an aside, he is a very good player.

He was "freeing his foot" like Shearer.

Scott Parker's head was deformed anyway. Balotelli was just trying to make the other side of the dome even.

I find Balotelli really entertaining, some wonderful stories in the press about his activities off the pitch. Stories include him driving past a school needing the loo and deciding to park up, wander in, and use the toilet, stopping for a bit for photos and autographs and going on his way. Another one about popping into a random pub and sticking £200 behind the bar. Then there's one about him being pulled over by the police who wanted to know why he had £5000 in his pocket, to which he replied "because I am rich". There's also a story about him stopping for petrol and then offering to pay for everyone else's petrol in the forecourt. Not sure I believe that one though.

I like the guy, we need characters like him in football and he certainly isn't a bad guy in my opinion. He is only 19 too, how many 19 year old footballers do you know who stand in manchester giving out there own money?

Not saying that he shouldn't have done what he did to Parker but he didn't exactly try and break Parkers legs.

There's nothing wrong with Balotelli that selling De Jong won't fix.

Another character doing the business is Paulo Di Canio, did anyone see his tv rant after Swindon's 1-0 weekend win? Brilliant, just the sort of passion you want from a manager.

I said 6 months ago we should have sacked Coyle and put Di Canio in charge.

Di Canio is fun to watch, i wouldn't want him as Bolton manager though. And i doubt you would either.

he needs to channel his passion.

I reckon De Canio is hamming it up a bit because he's not in a prem outfit these days - although he made a fair point about being allowed to gesticulate. Publicity seeker IMO.

Balotelli - great player but a bit of an arrogant twat.
