Ian Evatt says the prospect of coming up against former captain Antoni Sarcevic hasn’t affected his side’s preparation for Wednesday night's trip to Stockport.
Sarcevic left Bolton to join the Hatters last month but didn’t feature when the sides met at the UniBol just over a week ago.
The midfielder could be involved against his former team-mates as the Whites aim to book their place in the second round.
Evatt appreciates what Sarcevic did during his time at the UniBol but wants his players to focus on the job at hand.
“It doesn’t necessarily change things for us,” he said. “We’ll prepare the same way, their system will be no different.
“Obviously Antoni’s a very good football player and one that had a successful period while he was here.
“We wish him well, but we want to go there and be professional on Wednesday and get the job done.
“People will form their own opinions on players and how they performed for football clubs, and we can’t affect that.
“But what we will say is Antoni was captain of this football club when we got promoted back into League One and had success, so he deserves respect for that.
“We wish him well and all the best but for now we’re focusing on our own roles and responsibilities, and that is to make sure we’re in the next round of the FA Cup.”
Wanderers were held to a 2-2 draw when the sides last met despite goals from Eoin Doyle and Elias Kachunga.
Evatt was frustrated with the goals his side conceded at the UniBol but is expecting a different type of game on Wednesday night.
He added: “I think it’s a different game for Stockport this time because they’re at home and they’ll have more pressure.
“Will they go into the same low block they did here? I don’t know, maybe they’ll feel like at home they need to attack us more and if they do, that could well leave space for us.
“But we’re prepared to come up against whatever formation or tactics they play. We’re mostly focusing on ourselves, very respectful of them of course, but focusing on the job that we need to do to get the job done.”
