Ian Holloway's praise for Ian Evatt and Bolton after Oxford United victory 13470904

Ian Holloway has praised Ian Evatt and Karl Robinson following Wanderers’ thrilling 3-2 win against Oxford.

The Whites twice came from behind thanks to goals from Declan John and Marlon Fossey, with Amadou Bakayoko completing the turnaround four minutes from time.

Holloway was impressed with what he saw and felt both managers deserved praise for their attacking approach.

Speaking on EFL on Quest, he said: “Can we give both managers who try and outscore the opposition credit?”

Wanderers have now won six of their last seven matches in League One and sit eight points off the top six.

EFL Pundit Ali Maxwell was also impressed with the Whites’ performance and singled Fossey and John out for praise.

“The Bolton bandwagon rolls on and many people are joining it. I was there at the beginning, six wins in their last seven, they were brilliant today,” he added.

"They exposed Oxford who pushed their full-backs up really, really high. Bolton’s wing-backs made the most of that space in behind.

“Their mobile attacking players spun in behind, ran into that space and they caused so many problems for Oxford.

“Last season they won 16 of their last 22 League Two games to fly from the bottom half to the automatic promotion places.

“We’ve seen them do this before, the confidence and the quality that they have under Ian Evatt.”

Evatt’s men are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on Burton at the Pirelli Stadium (KO 7:45pm).

What? Holloway has had it in for us all season.

It was Ali Maxwell who praised us:

Holloway squirmed all the way through Ali M's praise for us so he chirped in with the "both teams" bit to take the shine off it.
This is the guy who slagged off Evatt after we beat Ipswich instead of praising his former player for doing well.
