Wanderers came from behind to rescue a point for the third successive game following a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

MJ Williams found the bottom corner with a clinical finish in the final stages, cancelling out Jordan Storey's opener.

It was the Welshman's first goal for the Whites, who are now unbeaten in their last four league matches.

Here are four key takeaways from the game.

Injury woes

Wanderers hoped they had put their injury woes behind them after bringing in seven new additions during the January transfer window.

But a series of hamstring issues has impacted the squad lately, with Declan John becoming the latest player to limp off.

Ian Evatt has described this season as the worst he has experienced in terms of injury luck and it is easy to see why.

The Bolton boss will be hoping his side can make it through the final four games of the season without suffering any further blows.

Kachunga shines against former club

Kachunga was given a start following Dapo Afolayan’s injury and looked lively throughout against his former side.

The forward also impressed after coming off the bench against Portsmouth earlier in the week and seems to be building momentum heading into the final games.

Kachunga has shown promising signs at times this season and could be a big player for the Whites next term once he gets a full pre-season under his belt.

His experience will also have a big impact on the squad, having played in the Premier League and Bundesliga before heading to the UniBol.

Change in system

Given Wanderers’ injury situation, Evatt opted to change to a 4-2-3-1 system with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson playing behind Dion Charles.

The Whites are already used to the system, having played this way during many of their games in the first half of the season.

Despite essentially losing a striker, Evatt’s men still managed to get into some decent positions and cause the visitors problems.

It will be interesting to see whether Wanderers stick with the current system for their upcoming matches against Doncaster and Accrington.

Aimson steps up

There is no denying that Ricardo Santos is a big miss for Wanderers, but Will Aimson stepped up in his absence against the Owls.

The defender made a vital block to deny Nathaniel Mendez-Laing on the stroke of half-time after a dangerous counter attack.

With Santos set to miss the remainder of the campaign, the next four games are a big chance for Aimson to prove why he belongs in the side.
