Last Tuesday a neighbour of ours who lives across the road,  reversed her new automatic Volvo out of her drive at high speed. She continued down our drive scraping the side of our bungalow and ripping off our full-fibre broadband box off the wall, finally stopping by crashing into my wife's Fiat 500, smashing a  rear light and damaging the back of the vehicle.

Bt have since restored our broadband and therefore our digital voice phone connections too.

On Thursday I lost the use of my left arm for half an hour then again a bit later, dialed 999 and waited for an ambulance for 2 & 1/2 hours and spent a very unpleasant night in A&E at Backpool Victoria Hospital.  Transfered to the Stroke ward, had a Ct scan,  then a Doppler test on my neck and finally allowed  home.  In 3-4 weeks time I have to have a heart monitor fitted to me for 7 days to see whats going on with my ticker.

I'm on a high dose of Asprin and Lansoprazole for two weeks, then replacing the Asprin with Clopidogrel.

I've had better weeks.

Really sorry to hear about all your bad news, Cajun.

The damage done to your house and car can be fixed and I'm sure the hospital and their wonderful staff will do their utmost to fix you too.

You might be down for now but keep as positive as you can and you will come through all of this.

Remember that a creaking door hangs longest!

Couldn't have put it better.

Take care, Cajun. You'll be in my thoughts.

Thoughts are with you Cajun - you've had more than your fair share of medical issues so hopefully this one will be resolved quickly mate.

Out of curiosity, WTF was wrong with your neighbour? I've seen some bad driving but from the sound of it this takes the biscuit.

She is in her eighties and just lost control of her new motability hybrid automatic Volvo.

I'm hoping she has the good sense to pack in driving now.

OK - if you're in "R" and heading back out of your drive at speed, across the road and into your neighbour's house, you'd probably go for the brake rather than the accelerator. Just saying.

What is wrong with you?

An elderly lady in a new automatic car gets a bit confused and panics when reversing.

Seemed to be pretty obvious to me what likely had happened from Cajun's initial post.

It's hardly an isolated incident with some some elderly drivers and she certainly didn't set out to do any damage to anyone or anything did she?

Hope the poor old dear is ok and maybe does start to realise that her safety on the road may no longer be what it was.

The main point here is Cajun's health not your views on an old lady's driving skill.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today Cajun and that your neighbour has recovered from her little 'bump'.

I have a sense of humour used to try to bring some light relief to a sad situation for all parties involved in Reversegate Smile

Frankly I don't believe you and I doubt most others do either.

Doesn't sound you were attempting light relief there to me...

Even giving you the benefit of the doubt I would have thought you would be sensitive of the situation to know that some issues simply aren't the suitable place or time to attempt to be funny, this clearly was one of them...

Having one of your "desperate to discredit Wanderlust" days again? That's the third post in 24 hours you've made an unprovoked bitch on. Do yourself a favour and give it a rest.

Completely and utterly the wrong thread for this.

It shouldn't have to be necessary to spell out to you that Cajun's real life illness is infinitely more important than your need to act as a self-centred, egotistical prat as you always do.

For once this isn't about you, it isn't about some old lady crashing her car, it isn't about you lying once again, and it isn't about what you think of me...

...it's about a dear friend of ours on here, who is going through a rough time, who no doubt is scared right now and would like the love and support from us all to help him face up to what's to come.

You really are a stupid, selfish, uncaring, self obsessed, obnoxious dick not to realise that - as you clearly don't...!

Sorry Cajun, just get better and ignore all this other childish shit.  It shouldn't have been posted on this your thread in the first place - but regrettably it has.
