Wanderers Move Towards Cashless Stadium
New payment and parking systems in place for 2022/23 season
The University of Bolton Stadium and Bolton Stadium Hotel will continue the process of going cashless for the 2022/23 campaign and beyond.
With a range of new systems in operation from Wanderers’ pre-season fixture against Huddersfield Town this Saturday, the aim is to deliver a more efficient, speedy and hygienic service across the site.
All car parks, concourse kiosks, coffee carts and hospitality areas will now be accepting card payments only.
The new Fanzone, Club Store, Ticket Office, Bolton Stadium Hotel bars, programme selling points and Lottery sellers will continue to accept cash payments as required.
Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Bolton Wanderers said: “Our overall aim is to keep improving the experience for supporters when they visit the University of Bolton Stadium.
“Continuing the process of going cashless will reduce queue waiting times across the board, ultimately delivering a better match day experience for our supporters. And, for the club, taking cash out of the equation will help to streamline our weekly processes and better invest staff time improving other elements of club operations.
“We are looking forward to welcoming fans back to the stadium over the coming weeks and we hope these simple and straightforward cashless systems, alongside the other upgrades made over the summer, will bring an enhanced experience for all those who visit the stadium”.
Cashless car parking at the University of Bolton Stadium
Parking on all car parks at the University of Bolton Stadium will be cashless from the start of the 2022/23 season.
In an effort to modernise the club’s parking system and ease congestion on a match day, new ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology, managed by Parking Eye, has been installed at the University of Bolton Stadium. The technology will be in activation from the Huddersfield pre-season friendly fixture on Saturday 23rd July.
Please see below for a comprehensive breakdown of how the new parking system will work for supporters and visitors on both match days and non-match days:

The portal allows users to register their number plate and payment details and once registered, the ANPR cameras will recognise the number plate as the vehicle enters into the stadium car park and payment will automatically be taken.
The vehicle will then be recognised every time it enters the car parks – so there’s no need to register and pay every time or to visit a kiosk to make payment.
