Accrington boss John Coleman says Wanderers have “a wealth of talent” and admits it is difficult to predict their starting line-up.
The Whites make the short trip to the Wham Stadium on the back of a 3-0 win against Leeds United Under-21s in the Papa Johns Trophy.
Ian Evatt’s men have failed to score in their last three league matches, and Coleman believes both sides are “desperate to get back on track”.
He told the club’s website: “We know this will be another hard challenge but these are the games where we generally improve and hopefully we can rise to the occasion.
“Both us and Bolton are desperate to get back on track and scoring goals in the league. I think neither of us have scored in the last two league games so it could be a 0-0 - or a 5-5!
“We know the wealth of talent they have in their squad and it will be difficult for anyone to pick their starting XI for Saturday.
“The first goal is vital in most game these days, it’s not always the case but it has such a bearing on how the game pans out and we are desperate to get it.”
Wanderers suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Wham Stadium last season, though they were without a significant number of first-team players that day.
The Stanley chief added: “Those will count for nothing. It’s a big game for us and a big game for them as well.
“It’s all about taking your chances which we haven’t been able to do in the last two league games but the more you create, the better chance you have of scoring.”
The Whites could come up against Nathan Delfouneso, who joined Accrington last month on a short-term deal.
The experienced forward was one of several players released by Bolton over the summer after a two-year spell at the club.
Delfouneso featured in the 3-2 win against Liverpool Under-21s in midweek as he continues to build up his sharpness.
Coleman also confirmed that midfielder Joe Pritchard is available for the fixture but says there are “one or two little niggles” in the squad.
The Reds are currently 17th in the table and suffered a 3-0 defeat against Derby County in their last league outing. Sean McConville missed two penalties in the space of three minutes during the first half.
