Major changes to Bolton Wanderers' Christmas and New Year fixture schedule

Wanderers fans have seen their Christmas schedule turned upside down after their home game with Derby County was selected for television coverage.

Sky Sports will screen the match – which will now be played on December 27 at 3pm – meaning there will be NO Boxing Day football at the University of Bolton Stadium this year.

As a result, the game at Lincoln City initially slated for December 29 will be played on December 30, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

And that means Bolton will also move their away game at Barnsley, initially planned for New Year’s Day, to January 2, with a 3pm kick-off.

It will be the first time that Wanderers have not had a fixture on Boxing Day OR New Year’s Day since the turn of the millennium.
