How many people get the bus service on matchdays? The club have decided to double the prices therefore single- £2 return-£3 starting on the 17th november vs barnsley. Acceptable or unacceptable?

I have used it in the past and I hated having to run faster than Usain Bolt to get from the Bus park to the stadium before kick-off. Now I use car, train or regular bus services.
I hope the 100% price increase comes with a better service that leaves a little bit earlier and lets people off the bus outside the stadium before going on to park a mile away....

I just drive. But more straight forward unless we're playing leeds at home and getting stuck in a shit load of traffic up the motorway.

I have to say I get to the stadium 45 minutes before kick off and it always starts the match day experience for me!Lt. I had to use the bus service a couple of times one year when my dad couldn't go. It was full of people I'd quite frankly have loved to hurl out the top deck window. And there's nothing worse than travelling by bus with a Saturday afternoon hangover.
In the end, I started walking to and from the stadium, five miles each way.

Lucky you! I must have always ended up on the bus with the worlds slowest driver then!

Meanwhile, back on topic....
The bus services are created by Bolton Wanderers and contracted out to bus companies i.e. the one(s) that come in with the lowest price to operate the routes. A few years ago they were operated by Stagecoach, Blue Bus and First, but now the tender is solely First bus - although they do sub contract out to Tyrers of Adlington for a couple of the routes. As these are contract routes First do not have a say in the prices or options of payment. If First did have the right to charge then how much do you actually think the fares would be - I know from Darcy Lever a single to town centre if 2 quid so imagine how much more it would be to the Reebok.
In fairness the prices haven't risen in years and due to increasing costs, and a possible factor being the higher costs involved in the contracts then its not too bad - it is still a fantastic deal.
Costs involved would be fuel, insurance, wages, cost of hiring the numerous buses (same sliding scale if you were renting a van from Salford Van Hire et al), administration etc etc etc it all adds up.
