The golden boy of British cycling was always made out to be a hero in the public spotlight - Olympic golds and the first Brit to win the Tour de France but out of the spotlight he was really a bit of a knob.

Seems fate has decided to deal him his comeuppance...

He might have been great on his bike but a complete prat it appears when it comes to his finances.

Wiggins hasn't had his listening ears or his thinking head on, if you ask me. Its all somebody else's fault to his mind. Of course it is, it always is.

He acted like a dick in real life, probably still is.

He wasn't the best rider when he won his Tour de France, his teammate Chris Froome was, but Froome had to sacrifice himself to help Wiggins - on one key mountain stage of the race Wiggins legs had gone and Froome had set off on his own to in effect win the Tour on that day (he was already in overall second place in the race) but was instructed to slow down and wait for Wiggins to help him cross the line.

After the Tour Froome was recognised as the Team leader and Wiggins pledged to race for Froome at the following years Tour but being the knob he is, didn't and created a massive drama instead.

Froome went on to win FOUR Tour de France as well as several Tour of Spain and Tour of Italy.

Wiggins won NOTHING else after the Tour de France that was 'gifted' to him.

That's not to take away his achievements on the track where he won his Olympic golds - but as a man he wasn't the best teammate you could ever had.

And clearly his attitudes have carried over into his financial life where it seems he took out a small fortune from his company that was on the brink of collapsing and now has to pay it back or suffer the consequences - as per the story in the article.
