'Hardest place to come' - Charlton boss Jones on Bolton draw 17762531

Charlton boss Nathan Jones was pleased with a point against Wanderers – but admitted there was a tinge of frustration it wasn’t even more.

Bolton went in front through Victor Adeboyejo but the Addicks got back on level terms almost immediately when Thierry Small’s cross went straight in.

Charlton then led twice through Lloyd Jones and Daniel Kanu, but the Whites hit back through Paris Maghoma and substitute Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

“It is a positive point, I thought it was a positive performance,” said Jones.

“I am really disappointed with the first and third goals but to come here and score three against arguably the best footballing side in the division – it shows that we are progressing.

“At no point did we look to contain, we led twice in the game and showed that we can come back, be positive and try to win games. This is arguably the most difficult place in the division to come to.”

He added: “We have to learn to come to places like this and win, be bold and dominate. That is what we have to learn to do.

“The last run of fixtures I had was Liverpool, Brighton and Aston Villa and they don’t get much more frightening than that.

“To come from here, with great respect, these are a fantastic side for the division. But we have to learn to handle pressure and go on and win games because that is what we want to become.”

Charlton find themselves just above the relegation zone heading into the business end of the campaign.

“There is a tinge of disappointment because we led twice, and with certain aspects of the goals. But we have to be realistic as well and that is a positive point today,” Jones explained.

“We have to get a points total to stay up and that is a point towards it. They are tough fixtures and there is no God-given right that we are going to come here and roll over Bolton because they are a very, very good side.

“Would I have taken a point before the game? It is difficult because I am a positive person and I want to win every game, but I will sit on the bus and reflect. I am content.”
