Absolute wank. Had all the first half and carried on in the second only for Derby to then score off a corner with the Bolton defence asleep.

I don't see us getting automatic promotion now.

Playing catch up now. Still hope, but the play offs look most likely.Cajunboy wrote:I don't see us getting automatic promotion now.

It's all part of the plan to earn the £450,000 to pay off the Bond holders promotion bonus...

Blimey, that goal must have taken some planning...Sluffy wrote:

Any neutral watching that game would have to admit we were the better side and unlucky to not walk away with at least a point. But we didn't and that's that. Derby has a relatively easy game against Northampton next Saturday which should put them seven points clear of us. To add to our pain Peterborough could jump us on goal difference if they win.
Of course anything can happen in football. We surely would still be favorites in the playoffs....so all is not lost....as long as the players heads do not drop.

It's clear we are still missing a goalscorer like Dion Charles that can actually put the ball in the back of the net and Baxter as Coleman isn't up to the job as much.

It's just a game for Gods sake.
Fwiw the ball hit the players arm, he didn't touch it deliberately, and in the days of common sense before the world of VAR began, everyone would have accepted it as a 'good' goal.
Even under VAR rules I think the goal would stand?
The law-making body International Football Association Board (Ifab) says that if the ball is either kicked or headed by a player and the ball then goes on to their own arm, it is not handball unless the ball then goes directly into the opponents’ goal or the player scores immediately afterwards. Meanwhile, in the Premier League, referees are encouraged to take into account the proximity of the player to the ball when kicked and whether a bigger body silhouette could be considered natural given the player’s action at the time.
Shit happens and there's no becoming bitter over it especially like I keep saying simply over a GAME.
I'm no different to you or anyone else on here in that I WANT Bolton to win every game they play but the 'game' involves winning and losing, 'good' goals and 'bad' goals (such as this one - according to the current rules - but not the previous ones - but might still be a 'good' goal under the new rules depending on how you interpret them - what a joke really!), good refereeing decisions and bad ones, good luck and bad!
What point is there to analyses your life away on what ifs and buts - you nor anyone else can change them - what point is there getting upset or angry about them, and then holding on to them for the rest of your life - like many do - you included?
It's not a life changing event, it's a missed 'handball' incident where the player didn't do it deliberately and the ball would have gone in the net anyway if it hadn't brushed his arm.
It's just a GAME ffs!

Wrong.
Bolton is a town in Greater Manchester and is not a game.
Football Ventures is a company which owns a subsidiary company with the less than sexy name of FVWL Football Limited, which provides an entertainment* product, namely BWFC.
BWFC's entertainment is the provision of professional football.
People PLAY** football.
Football is simply a GAME***
*Entertainment (noun) - The action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment.
**Play (verb) - Engage in activity for enjoyment and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose.
***Game (noun) - An activity that one engages in for amusement or fun.
It really isn't that difficult to understand...
If people want to see it as more than a game, then that's up to them but what they 'see' is what they 'add' to it - and isn't what is actually there at all - or in other words they are adding to it THEIR own emotions...
Emotion
(noun)
plural noun: emotions
A strong feeling deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others.
...and your emotions are unique to you and not the same as mine or anyone else's.
If you or anyone else wants to see the GAME as more important that what it actually is, then more fool you, as a GAME of football really is nothing in the scheme of things - is it?

A life without passion or love is like slowly freezing to death. It is merely an existence.

I save my passions for real life not on games.
Football isn't my religion, even if it is yours.
