Walsall boss wants 'front foot mentality' against in-form Wanderers 18715257

Mat Sadler has been impressed by Wanderers in recent weeks and knows his Walsall side are in for a “tough game”.

Sadler watched the Whites secure a 4-1 victory at Stevenage in midweek and insists they have plenty of quality all over the pitch.

“They are flying,” he told the club channels. “Bolton are doing very well in their league, a tough start but they have shown why they are one of the favourites in the division in recent weeks.

“When I watched them on Tuesday night, they showed exactly the same against Stevenage and continue to show why I am sure they will be one of the top teams in that league.

“I think if you finish above them, you will have a good chance of getting promoted because they will be right up there.

“For us, it is a fantastic challenge and test. We are delighted to be at home and I know there has been an incentive on to get more supporters in the ground as possible.

“I have said it before, when the Bescot is full and rammed, it is a hell of a place to play and horrible for opposition teams to come to. We are desperate to create more memories but are under no illusion what a tough game it will be.

“They have some very good players who can hurt you all over the pitch so we have to be right on it, but we are looking forward to challenging ourselves.”

Walsall are also going well in League Two, currently sitting second in the table with a game in hand on leaders Port Vale.

“We have had some really good games at home, against Leicester (in the Carabao Cup) I thought we played really well,” Sadlier continued.

“We have had some enjoyable cup moments so far this season and we want to create memories. I say that to the lads all the time and we have got it plastered around the training ground.

“We are desperate to do that for us, supporters, family, friends and everyone connected with the club, the squad and staff.

“Saturday is a great opportunity for us with that and it is one we are looking forward to. I reiterate that we are under no illusions what a tough game it will be against a very good, in-form team.

“We have got to show who we are, what we are about, what we try to do and approach the game with a front-foot mentality.”
