Do you feel you get your moneys worth?

Or do you feel councils are a bunch of theiving cunts?

Im on my phone so il tell you how much of a shower of shit our council is when I get to my pc.

Does anyone resent paying it, ordo you think you get a good bang for your buck?

I understand that we need to pay something, what I don't like is how it's decided - i.e size of your house etc.

I know one London council are taking teh bold sstep of actually billing people who have 2nd homes in their area - whether its used full time or not - its so not to reduce services elsewhere!

Where I am I have only paid €600 for the last 12 months - the amount paid is based upon teh resale value of the property and they are measured every year!

I certainly get service for money - bins emptied twice a week, street cleaners out every day, all roads and pathways are actually salted BEFORE the snowfalls and before any chance of rain, plenty of schools to choose from, if I had any younger children, emergency services are all up to date with equipment and practices etc etc etc. Only downfall is the we have to pay €80/year if we want to borrow books from teh library, although reading ion the library, itself, is free - and its the most modern and 2nd biggest library in Holland.

I pay, at the moment £220 per month. The council and services aren't too bad, but I do wonder what I get for it sometimes.
