Thank you very much... since iPlayer won't work in the States. Ngog had two really wonderful goals... but Bogdan worried me yet again as he parries in front. Again, thanks.

Goals created rather than sloppy tap-in's or free kicks .....very good.

Ngog beating men inside the box ..... that's what forwards are supposed to do.... now more of the same if you please Doogie.

They were individual goals and so by "more of the same Doogie" do you mean leave Ngog out until we get desperate, play him from the start or just win?

Terenceanne is definitely trolling with that comment.

I knew TA would get some stick for that comment.

There's a wider angle to the argument than most see, in that the nature of any goal scored is in itself to an extent an indication of the likelihood of it being similarly reproduced in future. To use a basic example...Team A wins 2-0, one goal was a mishit cross, the other was highly aided by criminal defending - there was virtually zero calculation involved in the goalscorer's positioning or movement, he was simply in the right place at the right time by chance. Team B wins by the same score, only both goals came courtesy of good quality, in the form of craft, vision, creativity, and finishing, despite a reasonable level of defending from the opposition. The former team has demonstrated no reliable means of scoring goals - the opposing defence had to be considerably flawed and a one-in-a-thousand had to occur for them to win 2-0. What do they do in future against the relatively stable defences, assuming no one-in-a-thousands come their way either?
We've picked up lots of points from games in recent times where we've actually demonstrated an unacceptable level of attacking quality. People sweep it under the carpet, thinking of points as points, then wonder why we can't make a habit of it.
Nobody cares about the quality of goals scored once you've successfully achieved your season's targets, but in the mean time, we won't achieve those targets unless we raise the bar in terms of attacking quality, amongst other things.
