There are two possible start elevens.

One of the selections struggles to score and struggles to defend. Have averaged a point per game. Can't beat Millwall at the Reebok.

The other eleven controlled the game and kept a clean sheet against Premiership opposition. Not only that but they all played out of their skins and won the match.

The other eleven controlled the game and kept a clean sheet against Premiership opposition. Not only that but they all played out of their skins and won the match.

But why? What in his head made him think that was the better choice? Yes we went and got a point there today so some might say that is a good result - but I am talking about before the game, when he makes his choice, why did he choose what he did?

Think he plans several games ahead which is why he was resting players in the cup match.

Think he feels we're solid, if not that threatening when we play 4-2-3-1 and that SKD is our best option as a lone striker.

I did think Vela would keep his place but maybe he feels he's too similar to Spearing? I don't know.

So Freedman set this up for a draw and got one. Many will say it's a job well done. I won't. This was a game we could have won had we gone about it in a positive manner.

We won't go down but we definitely won't be going up. This was a chance for the manager, not to experiment, god knows he does far to much of that already, but to stay with his winning team and go for a second consecutive away win. Imagine the lift that could have given the club but more importantly the fans.

I don't like Freedman. His tactics, his selection the way he handles players. We are going nowhere with this man in charge.

We broke our duck today. According to the pundits we have never kept a clean sheet in our last 31 league games away from home. Palace were 4th in the table so I think a point and a clean sheet is a decent result.

Most of those who predicted a loss are still not happy that we got a draw against a side having a very good season, and as you say a first clean sheet of the season away from home.

And we did all that without our better players.
