Owen Coyle just revealed on 5 Live that the players we released in summer took about £18/19million off the annual wage bill.

Imagine how much more we would have saved if we had let Coyle leave then as well!

And how many of them did he sign?
Plus he re-signed Knight and SKD.
Coyle is hardly in a position to comment on other managers' transfer policy when he was so poor at it himself, especially in the January transfer window.

Knight has been our best CB this season, ok he has made a few mistakes, but nobody is perfect. As for SKD he isn't on a massive wage so I have heard.xmiles wrote:And how many of them did he sign?

The club employed 60 footballers during the last accounting period at a cost of £48m. That's an average £15,000 a week per player, and the majority of these won't have got near the first team.
A £19m reduction sounds impressive, but considering the ludicrousness of what was there to begin with, it's the least you'd expect. It still puts us miles above the Championship average.

Makes me feel bad for calling the bloke, however I love our club with all my heart and feel so passionate about it and it was hard to take what happened last year.
