In my time it has to be without doubt okocha. Always brilliant to watch. Scored sone crackin goals and played with a smile on his face

I would never have a footballer as a hero. What's heroic about getting well paid to run around a football pitch?

My favourite player was Andy Walker.

He really was brilliant. 60 something goals in about 85 games or something. Will we ever see anyone as prolific as him again?

There's only one Andy Walker.

In my lifetime, id like to say super john, however, I saw him playing but was young.

So there is really only one person it can be after SJM...

Different players at different times for me Big Sam as a 'Never mind the ball, lets get on with the game' defensive style, Winstanley usually put in a steady performance, for quite some time. Super John without doubt. Andy Walker, and Okocha, were just class, as was Gudni. Michael Johnson was a cracking winger, and even Brownie was a good attacking right back. I see no reason why I can't like them all, and lots of others, whose names I know I should have included.

Did I say Johnson, or was it Johansson (its my age )

So many... but it's got to be Frankie Worthington, he just had the class to do things most players couldn't do.

I suppose Sir Nat is the obvious pick but mine is Freddie Hill. Modern day has to be Super John.

Roy Greaves and Gudni for club loyalty (Roy was from Farnworth btw), Frank and Jay Jay for entertainment value. And Frank again for being my favourite womanising pisshead footballer with a "rock and roll lifestyle" - not that I approve but he was funny as f***.

Super Mario Jardel.

No Mines as to be Jussi, back in the day he was one of the best and could have played for anyone but he stayed with us and never pushed for a move. Always Respect that in a player.

How many World Cup winners have we had? Just the one,Youri Djorkaeff and true to form I've never seen anyone else play for us with that level of ability. He was pure class and untouchable. I loved Andy Walker,McGinlay,Worthy and Gudni etc but Djorkaeff was different class.

Being pedantic Peter Thompson and the rest of the 1966 non final playing squad received a belated World Cup winners medal also.

bit of a tough choice between 2 different era's for me - McGinley from my early days watching the Super Whites and the curly legend Campo from the BSA era.

I think it would have to be Campo for me - when he played well the team played well.

Didn't Roger Hunt get one too?
