Jumps out first and leave's his wife to die, till death eh! nice devoted hubby.

We don't know all the circumstances. Perhaps his wife was afraid of heights and refused to jump? ( In which case she shouldn't have gone up in the balloon in the first case)

He is probably traumatised at the moment. In times of tragedy we often think... What if?
