Cheers Sluffy. I remember the inside was like a palace. (might not have been, I was only 12!) The groups started using it as a venue, and I remember my dad saying that Dusty Springfield was really foul-mouthed. Strange the things you remember.

Croal, Can you remember the name of the head doorman at the Aquarius ? He looked like he needed bolts in his neck. Manning used to take the mickey out of him whenever he performed there.

Croal, did you ever come across a character called Baz Winnard ? He was the head doorman at the Aquarius. He finished up running a pub on Deane Road, the Gilnow Arms. His son James is a cage fighter.
The head doorman at Pips was a black dude called Oliver Brady. He also ran the Ebony Club at lunchtime.
