What Do We Need Most?

It's almost certain we'll be in the Championship again next season. We'll lose a few players of course, but if we could only spend big in one area this Summer where would you spend that money?

A prolific Goal Scorer for me..

A solid central defender.

Given the difference Dawson has made, Knight being a year older so even more shite. We would only have Weather who I would have any confidence in - and that includes our full backs.

I don't know how many points weve lost from winning positions this season. But if we had held on to even a quarter of them we would most likely be nicely in the play offs.



But we need full backs and a winger as well..

I think we can kill two birds with one stone by signing a solid central defender with leadership qualities. I'll bet Gudni is still better than Zat Knight.

You could make a strong case for each option to be honest.

It's hard to pinpoint which one we need most but I would go with a goalscorer, a striker who will guarantee us 25+ goals a season.

any and all of those things help.

Honestly i think we need a creative mid, who can pick a pass.

we have players like Sordell/Ngog who have the ability to play on the shoulder but when i see them they're always looking skyward.

This poll needs an "all of the above" option.

Prolific goalscorers that guarantee 25 plus goals a season are rare.

There'll only be three possibly four players who will get that many in this division by the end of the season.

When was the last time Bolton had a player who got 25 plus goals in a season?

The last time (before this season) Burnley had a player like that was 13 years ago.

John McGinlay got 24 league goals (30 in total for the season) in 1996/7

(Chris Fairclough played in everyone of our 54 games that season)

Only top class striker we've ever had was anelka.

I voted for a striker we would easily be in a play off place with someone capable of 15 goals, but there is an argument for all those options.

Klasnic was never the answer, and he isn't now.

We need someone far more dynamic.

Wide players looked to be our biggest strength at the start of the season. Each of them has been inconsistent at best. This has contributed a lot to the struggle, in my opinion.

It's trickier when the problem is form as opposed to quality.

Somebody who can get us 25-30 goals in a season.

Yes a striker who strikes is important but I am sick of the number of points we have thrown away from winning positions and surprisingly we have scored a reasonable, albeit not enough, number of goals.

A manager who can get this lot playing something to like their potential, on a consistent basis

If we managed to get a striker that gets 25 goals a season, we would have him for just one season before somebody bought him.All the positions need strengthening, but without someone in the middle of the park marshalling his troops, they're always a possibility of them playing like a Sunday team..
