Visionary my arse. There must be a thousand novels and gawd knows how many movies that describe a wide range of elitist/fascist ways of selecting who should be allowed to live and who shouldn't, so this is very old hat indeed.

Some of you are getting bogged down in the killing bit.

The fact is our society is being overrun by chavs and scrubbers who use violence to take things they want. And when they are caught they get a slap on the wrist and are back on the streets in no time at all.

If there is no deterrent it will never end, it will just get worse. If I ever have kids I want them to be able to walk safely down the street. As a society we seem to shy away from extreme solutions, but until someone with the balls to do it comes along the chavs will only get stronger.

Interestingly, though I don't agree with drowning people at birth, the book Freakonomics did draw a correlation between banning abortions and after a time an increase in the crime rate. Which makes sense when you think about it, people from a deprived background are more likely to get an unwanted pregnancy and without the option to get rid of it you end up with a load of unwanted kids growing up in poverty and as such more prone to committing crime.

Something needs to be done about them.
