Did anyone watch it?

How long until you guessed the killer correctly?

I enjoyed it. Good writing and good acting.

If you like Scandinavian cop shows I gather you will like this judging by reviews. I've only seen The Bridge (which I also enjoyed) so I don't know how true this is. It dwells more on the impact of the murder than detective work itself.

There are lots of clues in the penultimate episode which I think made it obvious who the killer was. For me it was a convincing and effective ending, although how they are going to spin a second series out of it I can't imagine.

It was an excellent drama that should have been left as a stand alone series. Inevitably contrived and weaker sequel will taint it's legacy as a great piece of television drama.

I thought it was an excellent programme. I guessed the killer about halfway, but then I changed my mind for the vicar, although I knew that was too obvious.

I only really asked because we (me and the Mrs) got it before the end of the first episode and thought it was gloatworthy. It was great tv tho still and we couldn't be 100% sure until the end although there were plenty of clues.

SPOILER

I was a bit gutted that the way the caught the killer was done like it was. He basically rang up and gave himself in. With having already guessed who it was it was a bit of an anticlimax for us rather than the shocker that it was supposed to be.

I liked the way it ended. It's a bit of a cliche that the killer isn't revealed until the last moment due to some clever detective work. With Broadchurch we did have detective work, but much like most real life cases, it was something else that revealed who the killer was. Having him turn himself in also gave plenty of time for the reason to be explained, although you were still left wondering how far he would have gone.

It also gave more time for us to consider the impact of the crime on everyone in the community not just the murdered boy's family. This was a major theme throughout the series.

Finally the ending had an especially big emotional impact because of who the killer was.
