That equaliser v Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena smashed under Oliver Khan Bayern Munich 2-2 Bolton Wanderers.Today they still have Schweinsteiger,Philip Lahm,Franc Ribery,I'm sure I've seen Daniel van Buyten play this season for them Podolski is at Arsenal. Wanderers greatest night in Europe. :uk:

Goals aside, I remember a challenge that he did on Evra when we beat them at the reebok under megson....right infront of me, Davies just cleaned Evra out and nearly broke the bastard in half.

The ref waved play on and the picture on fergies face was brilliant.

Remember when he dislocated his finger and just straightened it? His diving header against Fulham a few seasons ago, which was wrongly disallowed was a good example of his battering ram approach.

The guy was a beast when he was at his best, sadly refs really did take the piss whenever he went into challenges or went up for headers.

His neatly robbing the Arsenal left-back and setting up a goal at The Emirates a few seasons ago and his deft back-heel in 'that goal' Mavies scored against Wolves when Coyle had us playing tiki-taka football for a bit - totally belied his usual bulldozer approach.

Didn't he once nutmeg Rio at the reebok when we drew 2-2 to set up the 2nd goal?

The conversation they had during that also tickled me.

It was lip read afterwards.

Evra - "why did you do that?"
Davies - "because I dont fucking like you"

My favorite has to be the goal against BM at the allianz.

I also enjoyed the header he scored in the dying min's to beat Tottenham a few years ago at the bok 3-2... I dont know why, it just sticks in my mind.

For someone who was good at using his head, he never really attacked the ball much when crosses came into the box. In terms of holding the ball up though, he’s one of the best and he has countless assists to his name.
My favorite SKD goal was against Bayern Munich at the Allianz. What a great moments.

Him getting his cheek broken at Charlton in the first half (Charlton player didn't even get booked IIRC) and playing on well into the second until he was sent off.

Also, as already mentioned, the dislocated finger incident.

As for goals, I remember him getting a winner against Liverpool very fondly and having some Liverpudian relatives going mad at me later calling him every name under the sun. Loved it! Very Happy

I haven't read this sorry if someone said this but that time straight from kick off when he went into a full blooded tackle on someone and i think he was booked.

that sums him up for me, when he was at his best, 100% passion, commitment, blood and thunder and not much grace.

never scored enough goals, but did what he could to influence games, and usually did in a big way.

As one of my mates is a venky every goal he scored against them was pleasurable, they hate him with a passion.

I used to like seeing him rough up West Ham every season.

Upson must've had nightmares about him.

And that goal in Munich will never be forgotten.

When Dougie grew a pair and ditched the whinger.

Good player early in his career, but started to believe the "Mr Bolton" bullshit. Shit player for the last 3 seasons, overall he did more damage than good.
