Ladies & Gentlemen as I speak there is mayhem on the streets of Astley Bridge.

An Ice-cream van has just been spotted close to Aldi and the Pineapple pub reports that the price for a pint of Strongbow is a remarkable £2.25.

All hell is breaking lose, but still we can all sleep easy in our beds tonight (can't promise about tomorrow because) the Chief Executive Officers, otherwise known as CEOs have received pay rises of over 16% whilst the rest of the grafters have seen their pay frozen.

I'd be guessing but.

The bad news is...there is rioting on the streets of Astley Bridge tonight.

The good news is you can get a cheap pint of Cider.

I remember that - thought at the time it was Mich posting though.

It was so funny how some of the self-righteous reacted to that post and poster.

With a welcome and attitudes like that is it any wonder why hardly anybody posts on bb any more?

I noticed it went a full day without any posts being made one day last week!

Sad when you think how good it was when it first started.

Do you think if he had not run it like an arse it could still to this day been so popular? He seemed to ban people for anything. I remember having an argument and found myself banned for a week. It was amusing how many people were banned from a football forum. Very Happy

I have always found this site to be quite tolerant even though the topics sometimes get a bit heated. A credit to the Mods on here tbh.

He's certainly banned loads over the years for nothing much more than either disagreeing with him or simply gentle wumming - that is why the site is as it is now.

Would we close this forum if no one was posting - I'm sure we would. We started this for fun, not to prove anything to anyone. We thought if people found a place to have a laugh then they would come back again - it seems to have worked so far.

If people don't like us and don't visit, then there’s not much point continuing imo - not much point having a dead forum really is there?

Do I think BB would be good if he didn't run it like an arse - yes I do.

It's hard to believe that in its glory days BB and ww were the big two forums and tw was very much like bb is today.

All that changed when he banned someone completely unfairly and to cut a long story short I got banned too for sticking up for wanting the site to be fair to the banned poster.

I left to join tw and there was basically a mass walk out to join me because of how the other bloke and I had been treated.

From that day on the balance of power changed between bb and tw, tw massively taking off to what it is now and bb, crashing and burning.

I always believe that posters make forums and Admin / mods break them - well bb is a classic example of just that.

Finally a bit of throw away trivia - as I post we have more or less achieved half as many posts in less than a year and a half (91,254) than bb (182,747) as achieved in 9 years!
