The pictures

With it being half term, my sister wanted to take her three children to the cinema tomorrow, only when she rang up, she was told it would cost, for the four of them, £30. Can you believe that?

I'm happy to say that in seven years, I've been to the pictures just three times; Revenge of the Sith, Slumdog Millionaire and West is West. And I only went to Slumdog Millionaire because my dad had free tickets with Orange.
The prices are miles beyond justifiable and there's seldom something on that I can't wait until it comes out on DVD to see.

Who else says bollocks to this daylight robbery?

I'm sort of with you - I begrudge paying those sort of prices for something you can watch for a few quid on DVD in less than a years time.

BUT the wife and daughter see it as a sort of night out (together with the popcorn and drinks etc!), so I don't mind too much once in a while.

Funnily I've already been told I'm taking them to see the Woman in Black on Friday.

And by the way - £30 compared to what your sister would pay a baby sitter to look after three kids for an evening isn't a lot of money, and they get entertained.
