According to one of the dailies, Channel 4 revealed that it will broadcast the Islamic call to prayer every morning during the holy month of Ramadan. Shows will be interrupted for the chant. Is the Muslim call to Prayer on TV a publicity stunt or are Channel 4 using their independent status to promote freedom of expression?

Another step nearer to the end of Christianity as the Uks main religion.

This is the full article. I notice they have given 'Affable Anjem' more publicity.

It's a publicity stunt IMO, typical C4 always trying to be controversial.

I think its disgusting.
If they showed something every morning during Lent, there would be uproar...

I don't understand why minority religions hold such sway in this country.
lets face it, Christianity may be the "major" religion. But most people who call themselves "christians" just tick the box without even knowing why. Most won't go to Church or even practice it.

I knew we couldn't have a serious debate without your trolling of religion.

I'm not sure where i "bashed" anything.
I was stating a fact. Most people call themselves christian but don't practice it in any meaningful way.
and minority religions such as Islam hold incredible sway considering they make up 2.4% of the population.
If you can't say anything serious don't bother, but don't accuse me of something i didn't do.

When was the last time you went to your local church?
How do you know how many people "practice"?

I'm going by the statistics nat.
i don't think it's crazy to say church attendance has been in steady decline for some time.

How long do you have to 'practice' a religion before you are considered qualified?

Islam = All your life, even letting it affect your way of life.
Christianity = Just a couple of days over Easter and Christmas.
Judaism = There's not really a time frame, it's just how many Muslims and Christians you've killed which decides it.

My neighbour mentioned it this morning, if one thing winds me up its this wailing shite and calls for sharia law in the uk from these nut jobs on benefits who are allowed complete freedom of speech unlike us in our own country, time someone had the guts to put a stop to all this, this is why i'm getting out of this country its fucked beyond repair. There was this rich arab bloke in a pinstripe suit, got out of a merc bigger than mine followed by his woman all in black with a post box slit to see through and she had to walk way behind him in silence while the arrogant fuck strutted his important way along the road. This was in fucking Eastbourne, even i would treat a woman better than that, i read that they tape up the womans mouth under all that black stuff and that she is subservient to the eldest son when the father is away and he can chastise her if she speaks to anyone ,What!!!!

It's clearly a publicity stunt, and a stupid one at that. IMO the main TV channels should remain politically and religiously neutral I don't see what they're hoping to gain other than get people talking about it.
Unfortunately it's just going to encourage the morons who think we're heading to Sharia law or whatever other nonsense the EDL tell them. Fuel on the fire.
