A back four and a GK all have a 20% score. with all being well would add up to 100%.

Now id take 15% off Bogdan , because we could do so much better than him.

Id take 10% off knight , because he's not a captain so i'd fill him in with another 10%.

And the same with wheat a bollocks, he needs filling in with a 10%.

Does that explain it a little more clearly sir?

Marc Iles twitter report of the match - arranged by DSB FROM tw -

Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Sad to hear of "supporters" berating players so much they feel the need to offer them outside. And you have to say, although the abuse can't be pleasant, it's not an ideal response.

As for the match, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] shows up a few interesting points...
Starting line-up sounds like 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3: "Sordell starts centrally, with Eagles and Hall either side."
From what I understand the deal to sign Andre Moritz is off, or at the very best postponed. Club were unable to sort a deal out for him, and I'm told he has offers back home in Brazil and in China. Lots asking about potential transfers but I don't expect anything to happen soon at all. Looks like this is the squad Dougie will pick from at Turf Moor in a couple of weeks.
First goal:
Brilliant run by Hall - the first time he has got loose this afternoon, jinking past two players and into the box. The ball then fell to Sordell who lashed a great shot into the roof of the net past Chris Weale.
Equaliser:
Mistake from Wheater on the half way line allowed Taylor to scamper away down the right, and his near post cross was stabbed home by Marsden. Bit sloppy from Wanderers.
Eagles for 2-1:
Good football from Wanderers - Hall fed Pratley and he played a clever reverse pass in for Eagles to finish tidily into the bottom corner. Nice riposte from the Whites.
Sordell for 3-1:
Wow. Confident finish from Sordell. Ball sat up nicely about 30 yards out and he absolutely peppered it over the top of Chris Weale.
3-2:
Paul Parry absolute thwacks a volley past Bogdan from the edge of the box. Seconds later, he's walking down the tunnel after being substituted. Honestly don't think he'll top that again this season.
After 71 minutes (a decent run-out), Freedman replaces Sordell with Cravies, Wheater with Mills - and Andrews with Ream, an intriguing decision with midfielders Gregus and Leicester on the bench. Iles: "Ream now moving into midfield. Hard to keep track of him at the moment."

Two minutes later, it's 3-3:
Hard to know what to make of that. Knight seemed to get his boot stuck in the turf and Baptiste must have thought it was a foul because he stopped dead. Asante hustled the ball and then kept his cool to slot past Bogdan.
84 minutes: Lester replaces Pratley. Assuming the back four is Baptiste-Knight-Mills-Tierney and Cravies is up front between Hall and Eagles, that means our midfield three ended up Ream, Medo and Lester...

86 minutes
Shrewsbury definitely looking favourites to win this.

89 minutes
Cross from Hall drifts right across the face of goal. He's been one of the highlights of another so-so day for Wanderers

BWFC Bogdan, Baptiste, Knight, Wheater (Mills 71), Tierney, Andrews (Ream 71), Medo, Pratley (Lester 84), Eagles, Hall, Sordell (C Davies 71). Unusued: Lonergan, Mears, Gregus, Bolger, Odelusi

In my heart I want to be positive. I want us to win every game starting in two weeks.  Sadly I have a brain (although some would dispute that).....  and my brain sees no improvement from last year to this. We can easily lose the next two pre-season games and then an opening away game at Burnley.  We don't have Spearing & Dawson and Holden is still away in the USA.
Somebody will no doubt comment that it's only pre-season and it means nowt ..... and by magic in the next 14 days we will become a slick moving Prem contender......

Fair enough, but you have nothing but a couple of training matches to base your negativity on. If you haven't been impressed with the signings and feel we're significantly weaker for whatever reason then I understand why you have your doubts for next season, but our performances pre season mean very little.

What did you base your comments earlier on (Bolton were hanging on, shambles defensively, little going forward) did you have some sort of commentary stream for the match?

I am not negative but I refuse to wear blinders but I'll reverse the question....where & why do you believe we have improved significantly in the last two months?  enough to give us all high hopes?

I think the difference in our views is down to last season, ever since Dougie took over I've felt positive about our future and after the run we went on to (nearly) get into the play offs I've been optimistic for the coming season.

The difference between last season and this is massive for me, we probably now have one of the fittest squads in the league and from what I've seen since Dougie took over they're probably among the hungriest too. The lack of effort was one of the most alarming things for me under Coyle, now Dougie has us playing as a team with plenty of energy - this alone can get you a long way in the championship. Add the summer signings, and promising form being shown by Holden (and more recently Sordell) and I think we could be in for a successful season, we'll have a better idea after a few games though.

I answered your question, you answer mine Very Happy

If you read the match report on the BWFC web site and follow the texts on the BEN ..... not much to go on I'll grant you but equally nothing to be positive about either.
I didn't say the defence was a shambles I meant to say it's not changed or might be worse until proved otherwise. Boggers had his hands stung several times and we shipped three anyhow......no disrespect but it's only the Shrews and Rotherham is barely a pub team.
I said the attack sounds to be better in flashes and another poster said we will need four a game to have a chance.
To your points ..... you don't know if we are fit or not ....Rotherham and Shrews apparently are just as fit if not fitter!!!!  Although I feel better with Dougie in charge he still is making the odd baffling decision....such as Ream at left back last week....most on here we scratching heads on that one.
The new winger apparently had a good game so that is positive ....however my point is that the Spearing/Dawson loss is more of a hit in the long run. So for me we are no better than the same as last season.....as of this writing of course.

If that's what you meant about the defence then it's a fair point, without Dawson we do look weaker, but a fit Wheater and 2 solid full backs should help negate that loss.

We were comparing us now to last season, not us to the opposition. Dougie clearly sorted out the fitness last year - my point was that's a reason to be more positive than this time last year.

I don't think Ream at left back is a strange decision at all, he's experimenting in a pre season match. Ream would suit LB quite well by his style of play; good on the ball, quick and can tackle why not give that a try?

Losing Dawson is a loss, Spearing has been replaced by Medo a more box to box partner for him would be my preference, ideally Holden but we'll see how he gets on.

So for me we're much stronger than we were last year, a competent manager, improved fitness and a better squad.

Interesting game. Thought we looked creative going forward and I like Sordell shooting on sight. Defensively, it looked rather sloppy at the back. Even the superb volley resulted from a shoddy half-clearance following a corner. All 3 goals conceded could have been prevented with a back to basics approach - it wasn't as though Shrewsbury were stringing together flowing moves.
I don't think the defensive problems are too bad - at least they can be sorted out with some decent old-style defensive coaching of the basics like tracking the guy you're marking, don't pass it across the back if possible, and when it doubt - Row Z. Less faffing about and more determination and thought at the back and we'll be fine.

I know I have been saying it's only pre season but I am now very worried that Dougie has been here a while now and yet it still seems our defence problems have yet to be resolved.

I had hoped that I wouldn't be but I am still going into next season thinking we will concede at least 1 goal per game.

You are an optimist!  Watch Knight on the last goal and if we give only one per game, it would be miraculous.

Real Madrid won 6-0 on their pre season match, I don't think they were just thinking 'its only pre season'.
