I'm willing to believe you met some pisspots in Coventry that told you Carrick, Oxlade Chambershite and Walcott were the best players in the world. I've never read or heard any such view.

It's not that ludicrous a suggestion that Gerrard, Cole and Rooney have at points been the best at what they do. Equally, there's people that find the idea of Bale costing £80m+ ludicrous. Opinions...
