City scored to help us... but a 2-2 tie with Stoke sent us down... though losing a 2 goal lead to Sunderland (I believe) two weeks earlier in the final 15 minutes did us in. Coyle did not have the players playing for him... they went through the motions those final few games.Hipster_Nebula wrote:We broke every negative record (basically) in the clubs history.terenceanne wrote:No..... we dropped from the Prem because of a last minute goal by CityHipster_Nebula wrote:didn't we go on the longest run of.... well everything negative in the history of the football club under Coyle.terenceanne wrote:It's scary agreeing with Nat all the time.....but right you are Madam.Natasha Whittam wrote:To be fair, I think we did look better under Coyle. We lost games under OC but did score at least.....right now we barely get a ball into the box.
You're right it was brilliant!
Then we had a miserable pre-season and a bad run ...... we are matching that run right now if not worse.
and the run we are on now (2 points from 4 games) is worse?
Ok.
Without Dawson, we have not won except in League Cup. DF is smart... he has seen that as well. I can only hope he is working behind the scenes to fix the Knighmare-Wheater situation. If not fixed, you had better call a plumber. We will leak goals all season and depend on the offense to score 3 or more. Well, they did in preseason and now their guns have gone empty.
As poor as people think we played this past week, we had a couple of good opportunities with Beckford blowing a chance to score and Medo making a great chance for himself. We could have easily been on top 2-1 at fulltime.
We may not be promotion material right now... but I trust DF will sort it out before long. The injuries have really hurt the distribution to the strikers. That's just part of the game. As long as the team is fit, you can't find fault because of injuries. It hurts the game plan and we started the season without the benefit of a team gelling together.
We should all be happy with the performance of Tim Ream. Excellent work this past week.
Bogdan also had a good game.
If Beckford and Hall have legs that hold up, we'll score plenty. Ngog still has not fulfilled what he can do, but that could change as well.
Here's to a long season that improves with age.
