Anyone like a bet ?

Arsenal are 33-1 to qualify for the Champions League next round. They need to overturn a 0-4 deficit from the first leg. Personally, I think 33-1 is crap odds because if Milan score just one goal it means Arsenal need to score 6 to go through.

I am chancing a tenner just on the off chance that Wenger manages to pull a rabbit out of his beret.

I've only ever had one bet in my whole life. I was just a teenager but I put all my savings on Mike Tyson to beat Buster Douglas.

A big mistake was that. That fight was the start of Tyson's downward spiral. The fight took place in Tokyo and while Douglas trained hard, Tyson spent more time with the Geisha girls than he did in the gym.

33/1 is terrible odds.

I only bet if I think I know something the bookies won't have taken into consideration.

Anything involving the PL or Champions League involving English clubs or International Football, the bookies are experts on and you never beat them in the long term.

The markets you want to be looking at are the lower leagues and sports like rugby league and county cricket and so on.

Well it's 1-0 Arsenal after 12 mins so it's a good start.

They might go on to win 4-0, Nat, but if they do it will be a longer shot than 33/1. That price is a reflection of how punters are betting and the true probability. I would say the true probability of Arsenal qualifying, before kick off, was around 150/1. Has anyone ever overturned such a large first leg deficit against a major opponent in the history of the CL? I doubt it.

I might tune in if it gets to 3-0, but for now, I'll stick with Birmingham v Chelsea.

If AC Milan go out, out of principle they should be banned from the Champions league for 2 years.

I thought 33-1 was crap odds personally. It should have been much higher, at least 66-1 because the chances of Arsenal overturning a 4-0 deficit are very rare. Nevertheless a tenner wagered is a decent return if they can pull it off.

Milan were woeful in the first half. It's as if they thought they just had to turn up at the Emirates to go through.

Very unlucky were Arsenal. They just couldn't get that 4th goal.

I can remember AC being 3-0 up against the Scousers in the Champions league and conceding three in the second half. I had a sneaky feeling they thought the game was over but that Arsenal would be up for it. Arsenal were shite at the San Siro and that's what cost them the match.

True that Arsenal had chances to equalise, but equally true that AC missed some sitters to put the game out of sight. Still a stirring performance from the Arse - the type of which I trust they'll deliver against our relegation rivals.

I caught the last half hour, how did RVP miss that sitter when it came back off the keeper, same could be said for Milan too near the end.

I sometimes have a bet on 4 teams at the weekend, nothing major just £2 but it's surprising how much I can get back sometimes if all predictions go my way.....they haven't yet but one day they will.

Tysons downward spiral started when he got knocked out by a tree,it taught him he was not made of iron.
