He was a great fighter but absolutely hopeless against a big hitter, got destroyed by every big puncher he faced,foreman, shavers, cooney, he didn't have a great chin and he knew it he lost those fights before the first bell sounded. A very nice man.

Ernie Shavers married a scouser and lives in Liverpool. He used to work as a nightclub doorman on Merseyside.
